-62 Today: Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain in the morning. Then a  good chance of rain in the afternoon/evening hours. Chance of rain 40 percent. High temps today should be three to four degrees cooler than Thursday's highs in the area. Overnight lows are running in the 30's in the area.
Yosemite Valley:
A 40 percent chance of rain, mainly after 10am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 48. Light wind becoming south between 15 and 18 mph. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. Tonight: Rain showers before 4am, then rain, possibly mixed with snow showers. Snow level 5500 feet lowering to 4900 feet. Low around 23. South wind between 13 and 16 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.   
 

On This Day In:

1950: Coldest ever so late in the season: Fresno had a low of 28 degrees, setting a record for the date. This was also the lowest ever in March in 62 years. A number of truck crops suffered damage and buds suffered on fruit and nut trees.

1965: Fresno received 1.55" of rain, setting a daily rainfall record. Most of the rain fell in a 5 hour window from 4 PM to 9 PM, inundating streets and poor drainage areas with water described as up to hip deep. A number of transformers in the city shorted out plunging many homes and businesses into darkness.

1996: An F0 tornado touched down in northwest Hanford demolishing a small farm structure and shredded some bushes; a second tornado touched down in northeast Hanford 18 minutes later, and may have been a regeneration of the earlier tornado. The alter tornado knocked down trees and toppled fences.

Yesterday: Sunshine with warming high temps yesterday over the area with Yosemite warmer than Mariposa for the day. Merced was the warm spot at 60 degrees as the high temps in Merced were six degrees warmer than Wednesday's high temps in Merced. Mariposa warmed up eight degrees from Wednesday's highs as Mariposa topped out at 55 degrees yesterday. Yosemite at 58 degrees was fifteen degrees warmer than Wednesday's high temps in the Valley.

Merced Enjoyed A High Temp Of 60 Degrees.
Mariposa Had A High Temp Of 55 Degrees.
Yosemite National Park Had A High Temp Of 58 Degrees.
White Wolf Had A High Temp Of 54 Degrees.
