Throw The Rascals Out

According to the, Congressional Research Service, the war in Iraq has now cost way over $633,392,800,980 and is rising at more than 34.4 million per day with no end in sight. We have spent over $121, 000 per American citizen. The only thing in sight at the end of the tunnel is yet another black tunnel. Additionally we have inflamed most of the world against us.
Yet, in spite of this the Republican presidential candidate, John McCain, says we will stay in Iraq for a victory within three years after he is elected. The major question is, of course, “How”? We can’t afford another year in Iraq let alone another three. On the other hand Republicans never worry about where the money comes from; their attitude is simply, spend, spend, spend and then spend some more because we can just raise the taxes on poor people and pass the costs onto our grandchildren.
What ever happened to the sound financial Republicans like Robert Taft, Barry Goldwater and many other real Republicans? How did these fine people get replaced by a band of big time spenders and looters at the public trough? How did they take over the Grand Old Party and will the Republican rank and file ever wake up and throw these flag-waving rascals back out into the alleys where they came from?
