Now that the hoopla and the spin of the campaigns is over and we are but a few short months until the actual election, the time has come for us to start thinking seriously about the messages being touted by each of these candidates. On the one hand we have Barack Obama citing the need for change and on the other we have the McCain camp claiming that the economy is fundamentally sound. Consider the facts. The unemployment rate is above 5%, thousands of Americans are losing their homes and millions of jobs have been lost and millions of jobs are going overseas and for the first time in history America is forced to borrow billions from overseas in order to stay afloat. Our national debt is now well over nine trillion dollars. The war in the mid-east is costing us billions every month with no end in sight. Considering the facts it is apparent that we must definitely change something because it is more than obvious that if as a nation we continue on our present course it will be a short matter of time before we face a complete financial collapse, Yes, we must make drastic changes while there is still time. One doesn’t need to wear a flag pin to be an American patriot. Waving the flag has always been a cheap way to hide a rascal. Let’s consider the facts before we vote in November our grandchildren’s future depends on what we do now.
