Robins

Most people are fond of robins and many believe they are the very first sign of spring. Not everyone knows that in the bird world they are considered to be nuts, if not completely crazy at very least weird. They have earned this classification by other birds because of the strange things that they do. For instance they often can be seen hopping along a concrete highway cocking their heads as if they could hear a worm underneath four inches of solid concrete let alone pull one out.  Then there is this odd thing they do with ants and their feathers.  Then to top things off when other birds seek pools of water in order to bath their feathers robins seek out piles of dust to dust themselves in.

Yet still, there is something regal about the way a robin marches across your yard and like so many of the creatures within the mountain shadows they are always a pleasure to watch.
