With the recent Oliver and Telegraph fires in Mariposa County, history has once
again repeated itself and Mariposa residents have witnessed “history in the making.”
Mariposa Museum
would like to keep a written record of these two tragic fires so that future generations will know of the tragedy and losses
that residents suffered as well as the outpouring of support and help this tight knit community provided to those who needed
it.
Mariposa Museum
and History Center is asking for stories of heroism, loss, support, as well as pictures or videos of the fire that we can
keep in our historical files. If you would like to contribute your story to the Museum, you can do so by sending it to
Mariposa Museum & History Center, P.O. Box 606, Mariposa, CA 95338. Or, you can email your story to
mmhc@sti.net
and place fire story in the subject line.
Whether or not
the fires directly affected you, your stories are important to the history of Mariposa County. Please contribute yours.
Thank You
