Gemstones for everyone, rock cutting for dad, panning for gold for the kids, and lovely jewelry for the ladies make this the ideal day or weekend getaway.  It’s a fun and educational outing for the whole family in lovely historic Mariposa - the gateway to Yosemite. All the action will take place at the Mariposa Fairgrounds where the California State Mining & Mineral Museum is also based. The show will be open Saturday, April 11th from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday, April 12th from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., the parking is free, and admission for kids 14 and under is free. Adult admission is $3, and includes Museum admission.

Beautiful crystals and gemstones will be on display in both the vendor booths as well as the Museums extensive collection. The Mining & Mineral Museum will provide educational activities for young and old alike.  You can go on a scavenger hunt in the museum, visit the mine tunnel, explore rocks and minerals at the touch table, as well as visit a gold camp with real gold miners and try panning your own gold from our pay dirt. A wide variety of gemstone jewelry and rough, breathtaking mineral and rock specimens, fossils, crystals, books and mineral related crafts of all sorts will be available at the museum shop and from our many vendors.
