The MCHS Grizzly Band Boosters proudly presents The Dr. Phillip M. Smith Band Marathon on Saturday, April 25th at the Mariposa Museum and History Center. The Marathon will kick-off at 9 a.m. with the Grammy Winning Grizzly Band, followed by an entertaining day of music from local individuals and bands, and the Mariposa County School Elementary/Middle grade student’s band. If you want to participate or provide music at the marathon or know of a musical group that would be interested in playing, please contact Linda Sheetz at: LNS123@yahoo.com. We welcome musicians to come and share their talents for this worthwhile event.  In addition to enjoying various musical groups, delicious refreshments will be available, including pulled pork sandwiches, coleslaw, spinach salad, chili, hot popcorn, baked goods and beverages.

Also, there will be a silent auction like you have never seen or participated in before.

All the funds raised at the Band Marathon will be used to support the band’s trip to Washington DC and the music programs of Mariposa County School District.

Another great feature of the day’s events will be Leroy Radanovich will have a book signing of his latest book “Legendary Locals of Yosemite National Park & Mariposa County”.

The museum will be open till 6 p.m. and features many historical displays and books. In addition, the museum’s historic Five-Stamp Mill will be run a few times during the day.
