Hospital Foundation Summer Events

Preparations are in full swing as the John C. Fremont Hospital Foundation gets ready for two summer fundraiser events.  ‘Take Me Out to the Ballgame’, on July 25th and the 9th Annual ‘Blazin Hog’ BBQ Competition and Zydeco Music Festival, on September 19th.

The ‘Take Me Out to the Ballgame’ event will be held on Saturday, July 25th,  5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Mt Bullion Vineyard, 6947 Hwy. 49 N, in Bear Valley.  Karen Smith and Kris Casto are the head party planners for this event, so it is sure to be a lot of fun.  The dress is casual, although with the baseball theme there are sure to be those that will sport their favorite team colors and apparel.  Enjoy a fun evening with dinner, silent and live auctions, and surprise entertainment.

Tickets are $30 and will not be sold at the door.  Tickets will be available beginning June 16th at Casto Oaks Fine Wine & Art Gallery at 5022 Hwy 140, Mariposa, or at the Hospital admitting office, 5189 Hospital Road, Mariposa.

The 9th Annual ‘Blazin Hog’ BBQ Competition and Zydeco Music Festival to be held on Saturday, September 19, 2015, from noon to 8:00 p.m., at the Mariposa Fairgrounds, in Mariposa.

Competitors can compete in three categories, beef, pork ribs, and chicken, for cash prizes of $500 First Place, $250 Second Place, and $100 Third Place in all three categories.  Entry Fees are $50 per category.  BBQ cooks wishing to compete should get their entry paperwork in soon.   Food and craft vendors should also get their paperwork in, as reservations are being taken already.  We’re gladly accepting sponsors for the event.

This event brings out not only local people, but many people from out of town who want to enjoy good BBQ, good music, and the charm and beauty of Mariposa.

The event is staffed entirely by volunteers.  If you would you like to volunteer to help please call Lorna Coci, at: 209-966-3631, ext. 173.  Additional information is available on the Blazin’ Hog Website: www.blazinhog.com.
