9 26 15 Farm n Ranch Tour flowerWhile the intense heat of the summer is upon us, we are looking forward to the feel of fall.  Later sunrises and earlier sunsets, cooler mornings, flocks of migrating birds, late-blooming flowers, crimson or gold leaves and the reappearance of yellow school buses on county roads all signify that fall is here.

Fall’s arrival also means that the Mariposa Farm & Ranch Tour will present you with an opportunity to celebrate Mariposa County’s rural character, showcasing a sampling of the county’s agricultural and natural heritage, the talents of local artists and hand craft products.  Mariposa Agri-Nature Association is the sponsor of the event, as it has for the last 9 events, formerly known as Weekend in the Country & the Tomato Fest.  Mark your calendar for Saturday, September 26th, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This year 5 locations welcome your visit.  In Catheys Valley the Epic Alpaca Ranch and Raw Roots Farms and in the Lushmeadows area Sierra Cider and Butterfly Creek Winery are getting ready to welcome you plus the Costa Livos, olive oil and vinegars, will host their guests at their store in town and explain their growing practices and decisions.  Each location will feature artists and craft demonstrations and offer their creations for sale.  Each location will also feature workshops such as History Comes Alive and birdwatching.  And there will be a mix of activities for the kids. Lunch will available as well.

Mariposa Farm & Ranch Tour will be a day of adventure, education, family activities and interest to all of you who might want to learn first-hand from producers’ experiences.  We hope you might want to be a part of this Mariposa day.  If you would like to share your art, your hand made products, your knowledge, and your goodwill from a non-profit association related to agricultural or conserving our natural resource, please contact us as we would love to hear from you.

The tickets are $10 per adult or $25 for a CARload of folks.  For more information call Kris Casto at: (209) 377-8203 or email JJ Gillispie at: jimandjoce@gmail.com.  Please take a look at our web site: MariposaFarmsandRanches.com or follow us on Facebook: Farms and Ranches of Mariposa County. We are looking forward to seeing you September 26th, 2015.
