A Fuels Reduction Workshop will be held Saturday, February 13, 2016 located at the Lushmeadows Clubhouse from 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.  The workshop is open to all residents of Mariposa County and neighboring counties.  The workshop will be hosted by the Mariposa County Resource Conservation District (MCRCD) and its partners CAL FIRE, USDA-Forest Service, Mariposa County Fire Safe Council, Upper Merced River Watershed Council, Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Midpines Planning Advisory Committee.

Attendees will be provided information pertaining to state mandated LE100 (defensible space) requirements, access road safety, assessing fire hazard outside the defensible space,  achieving forest heath and diversity, proper limbing, thinning and brushing techniques, how to build a proper (and CAL FIRE approved) slash (brush) pile, brush re-sprout control, obtaining homeowners insurance in high hazard areas, mechanical fuel reduction techniques, and how to obtain cost share funding for your fuel reduction projects.  There will be time allowed for questions and networking with various agencies.

Lunch and guaranteed seating will be provided for those that pre-register by Wednesday, February 10th and mail or deliver a $10 check payable to:
