Sandy Kowallis
Painter: Oil, Watercolor

Sierra Art Trails Sandy KowallisArtist Bio:

Originally from Idaho, Sandy Kowallis has lived in Central California for most of her adult life. Her art education began at the former Chicago Academy of Fine Art, an accredited commercial art school.

Most of her career in Fresno and Clovis was in advertising, where she worked in account management, writing, and illustrating for many years.  In retirement, she lives in the foothills east of Clovis and concentrates on fine art.  Known more widely for watercolor, she has moved recently into oil on canvas.  Sandy shows regularly at Timberline Gallery in Oakhurst, and Shaver Lake Art Gallery.

Artist Statement:

Whether working en plein air or in the studio, I am often drawn to water as a subject.  In its ever-changing patterns of motion and reflected light, water comes alive and sparks my creative energy. It’s like painting magic, for water is the source of life, and color is the result of light.

I will be showing my work and demonstrating painting for all three days of Sierra Art Trails at Timberline Gallery in Oakhurst.
Please come by and visit me.

The home studio is open by appointment only, and Sandy welcomes visitors:
