The community preparations are underway for the famous delicious “68th Annual Hornitos Enchilada Dinner”, to be held in “Historic Hornitos”, on Saturday, March 4, 2017, from 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Golden Stag Hall. Enjoy a leisurely drive through the beautiful foothills, visit the local establishments, and experience the rich history and atmosphere of the historic town and taste the delicious dinner prepared by the Hornitos Patrons Club members, community residents and friends.

Join us to celebrate our 68th year, there will be vendors presenting their local handmade crafts, along with western music entertainment by DJ Mark (starting at 4 p.m.) & Cottonwood Creek (starting at 6 p.m.). Dinner includes your choice of 2 enchiladas or chicken pie, beans, salsa, garlic bread, coleslaw, sherbet cup, coffee and punch.

Sponsored by the Hornitos Patrons Club, members are responsible for numerous projects and activities in Hornitos and Mariposa County. Monies are donated to the Cancer Walk, Salvation Army, Manna House, 4 Graduation High School Scholarships, Medical Emergency Kit for Hornitos, New Roof on St. Catherine’s Church including weed abatement of the cemetery, Roof on Hornitos School House, Fire Victims, Back to School Party including supplies and backpacks for our community children, Hornitos Public Telephone, Grad Night donation, donation to children aging out of foster care, plus donations to the 4-H youth programs, and preservation of history in the town of Hornitos with plaques and maps.

The club also hosts the 31st Annual Flea Market on Sunday, October 1, 2017 (always the first Sunday in October) and All Soul’s Day Candle Lighting ceremony on Thursday, November 2, 2017 (always on November 2nd).
