Mariposa Friends of the Fairgrounds Foundation announces that applications are now available for the 2017-2018 contest year for Mariposa County Fair Rodeo Royalty. Contest is open to young ladies from Mariposa, Madera, Merced and Tuolumne counties between the ages of 6-21. Skills testing will be on horsemanship, on stage modeling, impromptu questions, queen contestants have a three-minute speech based on this years fair theme and queen and princess contestants have a personal interview.
Contestants will sell advertising in the rodeo memory book program, as well as selling raffle tickets and rodeo tickets as part of the program and will have opportunities to volunteer in various areas of the community for "community spirit" points.
Competition day is Saturday, August 12th. Crowning takes place on Sunday, September 3rd prior to the Mariposa Rodeo.
