Having managed a multi-million dollar business for 20 years with a 144 employee payroll and negotiating numerous contracts during that time I never once had to or would consider severance pay. This included employees as well as contractors. Either they complied/fulfilled company policy or contracts 100% per agreement or they were dismissed without goodbye compensation. If contractors or potential employees need a severance clause then that alone is a no trust on either side setting off an alarm.

SST-LTRWe have a very competent County Attorney to assist the Board of Supervisors in making sure that no severance clause is need in any contracts. Thanks to the 2013-2014 Grand Jury findings, the Board of Supervisors kept a hiring mistake for management of Mariposa County Human Services. This mentioned should be a good test to measure the Board of Supervisors performance when fulfilling the opened management positions.
