Three Reasons to Attend the 2014 Mariposa County Fair and Homecoming

First, The Exhibitors:
Mariposa people all over the county, young and old, have been working for a year on exhibits for the fair.  For the 4-H and FFA youth, the Fair Junior Livestock Auction provides funds for their future.  Artists have been painting and taking photographs to exhibit.  Men and women have grown fruits, vegetables, and flowers to exhibit and bake and can.  The fair is your opportunity to support your friends and neighbors.

Second, The Carnival:
The California Carnival is a 2014 model carnival.  The owner, Kevin Tate, prides himself on his carnival and his crew.  Here is a quote from the owner's website: www.californiacarnival.com

" Setting a New Standard of Excellence at California Carnival we believe the details make all the difference -- our attention to the little things makes your experience the best it can be. Since our founding in 1981, we have worked diligently to ensure that we provide communities the excitement of the carnival rolling into town with the security of knowing that the midway is a family affair.  Our carnival is where children make their fondest memories and where parents can be certain their children are safe. Our progressive thinking is how we earned the 2010 Small Business of the Year Award given by the California State Assembly."

And Third, The Featured Band:
Sunday night after the Junior Livestock Auction and the CCPRA Rodeo at 8:00 p.m.: Dance the night away with Jackson Michelson. From their website: www.jacksonmichelson.com/home

"Born and raised in Corvallis, Oregon, Jackson Michelson is a Country singer/songwriter who takes pride in his home grown roots.  The development of his unique style is the result of a lifetime of musical inspiration. He lives and breathes music and entertainment.  When you leave his show, you will have a tune stuck in your head and a smile on your face.  His feel-good infused, country style pays tribute to some of his greatest influences such as Garth Brooks, Tom Petty, Collin Raye, and Merle Haggard.

Jackson's debut EP 'Dreams' was released in October of 2010 which set the stage for a promising career and jump-started a wild ride.  His follow up self-titled album has sparked a wake of great opportunity.  Touring the nation with his band, he has played alongside some of the biggest names in Country music such as Lady Antebellum, Lee Brice, Collin Raye, Darius Rucker, Sawyer Brown, and many more!"

Why attend the fair?  For fun and to support the community (and did I mention fair food).
