SST LTRSupervisor Marshall Long has recused himself from the mining discussion.  I don’t understand how our county Board of Supervisors can vote on an issue that has to do with the third district and say our supervisor can’t be heard.  The issue was brought up by a third district land owner not wanting the Mt. Gaines Mine to operate. A third district mine and a third district person.  Our Supervisor for the Third District, Mr. Long has to refuse himself because of an interest on or around his property he is willing to fix, if given time to do so.

We the voters in the third district voted him in knowing he is willing to look at each mining development as to its good or harm to the county.  Not allowing us the people of the third district to have a say is wrong, it is a slap in the face.  It is a third district mine, a third district person.  So, to not let Mr. Long have the time to fix the conflict of interest problem is wrong.  There are State and Federal regulation in play now governing mining in the State and our County.  There is no harm in giving our Supervisor the time he needs, so he can vote for us the people who voted him into office to represent us, he is our voice.  Not giving Marshall the time to fix the conflict, is taking away our voice.  I am a veteran who fought for our county, to see that each and every American has a voice.  It would be un-American not give us our right to be heard.

(We need all the jobs we can get without harm to the county.  Why are we trying to stop land owners from doing with their land things that will bring jobs?)
