While people who care about the Republican Party are trying to figure out how to survive the Trump debacle, McClintock issues a fresh message of support for Trump in an article published October 11 in the Sierra Sun Times. McClintock thinks it’s just fine to support a man who brags about getting away with the crime of sexual assault because “he is a star.”

Besides defending Trump, McClintock goes on to several topics, but I’ll just respond to one that really surprised me. He praises the Citizens United decision of the Supreme Court. That’s the decision that in effect says that big corporations and wealthy individuals can spend whatever it takes to corrupt our elections. I doubt that many readers of this newspaper are that trusting of corporate America.
