SST LTRUpon reading the suggestion by Mr. Lowell Young (letter to the Editor February 27), I wish to report another outrageous act by persons unknown.  During the 2016 election, I placed an election sign upon my property facing the street where I live.  The sign was clearly upon land belonging to myself.  A few days later it had been removed, with no indication who or when the theft had taken place.  A clear case of trespass, although at the time I felt it was wise to say nothing.

Many cars have been vandalized simply because of a bumper sticker indicating the affiliation of the owner, and hate mail has abounded.  One news organization even refused my letter of recommendation of a candidate due solely to the risk of condemnation by certain readers, as stated by the organization in advising me of their decision not to publish.

As a result of this repression, we are now living in fear of the possibility that an unfriendly foreign government has successfully wielded influence upon those unfortunate persons drawn into their misrepresentations.  The indications are real and ominous.

This is not democracy, it is fascism in action.  Let me remind the persons who perpetrated these unwarranted acts that six million people of Jewish faith were slaughtered in World War II as a result of hate propaganda against their religion.

If they have enough education to be able to read, that is.  I like to think by way of excuse, that the acts of such persons can only be classified as a display of their own ignorance.
