Mariposa Elementary School held its eighth grade promotion ceremony at the high school auditorium on the evening of Thursday, June 8, 2017. Principal Jan Steed, teachers Iris Wellcome, Theresa Kraemer, and Matt Vejar presided. Student Body President Cael Harry and Vice President Bryan Jacobs helped emcee the ceremony. MCUSD board trustees Judy Eppler and Kathy Chappell were also in attendance and shook each students' hand after they received their promotion certificate. At one point in the ceremony, teachers Theresa Kraemer and Iris Wellcome (far right) stated award categories one by one and students who received awards in each category stood for recognition.
