May 2017 Visitation to Yosemite National Park Down Slightly Year Over Year

June 21, 2017 – After last year's record setting number of visitors to Yosemite National Park May 2017 stats has the number of recreation visitors down by 1.5% year over year.
The Arch Rock Entrance Station (Mariposa -Highway 140) had an increase of visitors by auto of 30.6% compared to May 2016. Year to date numbers show an increase of visitors by auto of 31.3%.
The Big Oak Flat Entrance Station (Groveland - Highway 120) had a decrease of visitors by auto of 9.8% compared to May 2016. Year to date numbers show a decrease of visitors by auto of 41.2%.
The South Entrance (Oakhurst - Highway 41) had an increase of visitors by auto of 14.4% compared to May 2016. Year to date numbers show a decrease of visitors by auto of 23.1%.
The total recreation visitors to Yosemite National Park for May 2017 was down by 1.5% compared to May 2016. Year to date numbers show a decrease of recreation visitors of 16.6%.
Note: The entrance stations to Yosemite National Park have been closed at various times during 2017 due to heavy winter storms affecting the roads.
