    Discussion and consideration of approval to amend the Classification Plan for the Sheriff's Office, effective July 1, 2017, with direction to:

1.              Amend the Classification Plan by adding the class of Sheriff’s Corporal.

2.              Set the salary range for Sheriff’s Corporal as follows:

·              Range 271 (POB2 0115), $5,285 - $6,424 per month ($63,423 - $77,091 annually, $30.49 - $37.06 per hour).

3.              Designate the Sheriff’s Corporal class as overtime eligible, pursuant to the Fair Labor Standards Act.

4.              Allocate the Sheriff’s Corporal class to the Peace Officer Unit, for bargaining purposes.

5.              Direct the Human Resources/Operations Division of County Administration to amend the Position Allocation within the specified Sheriff's Org Keys as follows and as reflected in the 2017-18 Budget:

a.              Org Key #04010 (Main):  Allocate 8.5 FTE Deputy Sheriff positions to the class of Sheriff's Corporal and flex staff with Deputy Sheriff - Basic and Deputy Sheriff - Intermediate.
