July 19, 2017 - EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Mother Lode Field Office is temporarily closing the Briceburg Visitor Center, along with McCabe Flat, Willow Placer, and A stone building (BLM Photo)Railroad Flat campgrounds along the Merced River due to the Detwiler Fire.

At the time of this release, CAL FIRE is reporting the fire has burned 19,600 acres in Mariposa County, California, and is only five percent contained. Evacuation Orders are in effect for the City of Mariposa, and surrounding communities. Hwy 49 at Hwy 132 Coulterville Road is closed the Merced River Recreation Area will be closed until further notice.
