July 25, 2017 - The Detwiler Wildfire in Mariposa County began on Sunday afternoon at around 3:56 P.M. at Detwiler Road  across from Hunters Valley Road about 2 miles east of Lake McClure. As of Monday evening the fire was at 78,900 acres with 60% containment.

Evacuation orders for the following areas will be lifted for residents only, Tuesday July 25, 2017 at 12:00PM 
These areas will remain under advisory. 
Evacuation Advisory- 
Issued alert to media and public of potential evacuation orders. Contains general information of the incident and how to prepare. 

Lower Dogtown Rd- From J132 to Wagner Rd (Wagner Rd remains closed)
 
All other evacuation orders remain in effect.

Please be aware that Fire Crews remain in the area. Please drive with caution, fire crews are working on the roadways making vehicle traffic crowded at times.
 
All North County Evacuation Orders and Advisories remain in effect.

SAFETY MESSAGE – The public is reminded to stay vigilant on current fire conditions. Please continue to adhere to road closures and any evacuation warnings.  If you see electrical wires on the ground, stay clear and contact PG&E immediately. Trees and poles with deep charring, particularly if still smoking, should be considered hazardous. Please drive slowly and yield to emergency personnel in the area. As you re-enter your property and evaluate damage, be aware that hazardous conditions may exist, particularly if a residence or out-building has burned. Hazards may include asbestos, heavy metals, by-products of plastic combustion and various other chemicals.

Current Situation
Repopulation will continue as directed in South Mariposa County. Crews were able to stop the spread of a 500 acre slop over that was within the secondary containment lines of division HH.  Fire spread will continue to impact structures, transportation routes and infrastructure in these areas.  We ask the public to exercise caution and remember that, “One Less Spark-One Less Wildfire”.
