August 9, 2017 - MARIPOSA – On Sunday, July 16, 2017, the Madera-Mariposa-Merced Unit of CAL FIRE responded to the Detwiler Fire in Mariposa, California. As of Tuesday, August 8, 2017, the fire is 81,826 acres and 98% contained.

Fire Crews have been implementing the Incident Fire Line Suppression Repair Plan. However, due to a heightened risk of fire danger caused by these activities, CAL FIRE suppression repair efforts are being halted. The Incident Fire Line Suppression Repair Plan will continue as weather conditions permit.
