Donate to the Mariposa Community Blood Drive on Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 3:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. The blood drive will be at Pioneer Market, located at 5034 Coakley Circle in Mariposa.
‘Give the Gift of Life’ and receive a voucher for a free pint of Baskin Robbins ice cream, and Buy One, Get One free ticket for the Fresno Fair.
The blood donation process usually takes less than one hour to complete. Donors must be in good general health, weight a minimum of 110 pounds and be at least 18 years old (16 and 17 year olds must have written parental consent.) Senior citizens are encouraged to donate, as there is no upper age limit. Donors should eat a good meal and drink plenty of water within four hours prior to their donation. Donors can give blood every eight weeks. Photo ID is required at donor registration.
The Central California Blood Center is the sole provider of blood and blood products for the 31 hospitals in Fresno, Tulare, Madera, Kings, and Mariposa Counties and must collect 5,000 to 6,000 pints of blood a month to fill the need. ‘Give the Gift of Life’. The rule is one can donate blood every 60 days.
