October 19, 2017 - The Detwiler Fire ravaged 81,000 acres and burned 63 homes. Where should we go now, what should we have done to make our homes safe, and what should we be doing to help our land recover?

Michael S. Beaudoin of the Mariposa County Fire Safe Council will present a free workshop covering some of the history, dynamics and results of wildland fire Oct. 21 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Greeley Hill Community Hall, 10332, Fisk Road, Greeley Hill.

The presentation is sponsored by the Mariposa Master Gardeners. Please telephone 209-966-2417 or go to the website, cemariposa.ucanr.edu to register.

This is the same presentation Beaudoin presented in Mariposa in August.

"Firescaping and What to Change in a Changing Forest" covers living well and safely in a fire-prone landscape and will include fire-recovery and rehab options. There will be time for questions from the floor, plus numerous brochures and a list of websites for advice.
