October 20, 2014 - September 2014 visitors to Yosemite National Park by auto rises 1% from September 2013.


2013 visitation numbers were affected by the Rim Fire that burned into the park. 2014 visitation numbers could also be affected by fires in the areas surrounding the park and in the park.

 The Arch Rock Entrance Station (Mariposa -Highway 140) had a decrease of visitors by auto of .3% compared to September 2013. Year to date numbers show a decrease of visitors by auto of .5%

 The Big Oak Flat Entrance Station (Groveland - Highway 120) had a increase of visitors by auto of 0% compared to September 2013. Year to date numbers show a increase of visitors by auto of 10.6%


 The South Entrance (Oakhurst - Highway 41) had a increase of visitors by auto of .2% compared to September 2013. Year to date numbers show a increase of visitors by auto of 1.4%

 The total  visitors  by auto to Yosemite National Park for September 2014 was up by .9% compared to September 2013. Year to date numbers show a increase of visitors by auto of 3.9%

 Park Staff Notes for September:
The following campgrounds closed for the season in September, Yosemite Creek 9/8, White Wolf 9/15, Tuolumne Meadows 9/28. Bridalveil Creek was closed to the public for fire camp 9/2 through 9/15, reopened to the public and then closed for the season on 9/22.
