December 11, 2017 - The Holiday season started off in Coulterville with terrific turn-outs for both the Kops For Kids Fundraising Dinner and the Tree Lighting/Holiday kickoff bonfire…both of which took place on Saturday Dec. 2nd. Santa made his first appearance in Coulterville that evening, handing out candy to all the kids… even the grown-up ones,,, at the dinner. “We hope this is a sign that we’ll have a great turnout for Christmas in Coulterville taking place on Saturday, December 16th. The day’s family fun activities include:
From 8:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.: Rebekah’s Holiday Breakfast at the IOOF, 5030 Main Street, which includes eggs, ham, and some holiday treats is only $5 for adults, $3 for children, with a family package (2 adults/2 children) costing just $15.
12 Noon: Santa will be catching a lift on a local fire engine from where Rudolph and the other reindeer are stashed down Main Street for a visit with all the local children at the Coulterville Firehouse as part of the Fire Brigade’s Gift Giveaway.
From 1:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M.: Coulterville Community Club’s (CCC) Holiday Dinner, featuring ham and turkey and all the trimmings, welcomes everyone. This is a great event for everyone from folks who have no local families with which to celebrate the holidays, for friends to meet up and for large, extended families to gather under one very large roof… with everyone able to enjoy the wonderful traditional holiday faire. 
7:00 P.M.: The festivities will all be capped off with the Gold Country Singers’ Holiday Concert at the Methodist Church. (For those who can’t stay in town that late, the Thursday, December 14th dress rehearsal at 6:30 P.M. is open to all and will also have refreshments!)
There will be time in between to check out the Holiday Market & Craft Fair taking place from 10:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. at the Magnolia Saloon (table fee proceeds are being donated to Nurture in Nature) and the informal street faire along Main St. as well as the wonderful gift items available at the local merchants and at the Museum’s gift shop.
There is no charge for the Fire Brigade’s Santa Visits & Gift Give-A-Way, the CCC Holiday Dinner or the evening’s Choral Concert! All three events are free to everyone and the entire community is urged to come on out and enjoy the holiday spirit!
