Sierra Foothill Charter School students spent the month of September focused on the Character Counts! pillar of Respect. They participated in projects and discussions in their classrooms on what it means to be respectful. On Friday, September 26, students who showed outstanding respectful behavior throughout the month were honored in a school assembly.
SFCS-char-counts-assembly-1First and second grade teacher Wendy Baumann introduced skits performed by her students. The skits demonstrated the concept of respectful behavior.
SFCS-char-counts-assembly-2The skits introduced Respect Man and Respect Woman (shown here, Kensley Silva) who came to the rescue when students weren't being respectful.
SFCS-0816Student Ty Harrison spoke a few final words about the skits and the work of Respect Man, Mason Sinclair, and Respect Woman, Kensley Silva.

Teachers then recognized one student from each grade level for their respectful behavior throughout the month of September.
