February 10, 2018 - Former Senate President Pro Tem Don Perata, the Co-Founder of Flip the 14, has issued the following statement after the highly respected Cook Political Report added California’s 4^th Congressional District, represented by Republican Congressman Tom McClintock, to its list of swingable districts:

“In the last blue wave election, Tom McClintock almost lost, and this year, he has strong candidates running against him who have proven they can raise the money and grassroots support to compete in this district. The Cook Political Report’s suspicion that an upset might be in the making CA-04 is absolutely correct.

“For several months now, Flip the 14 has been laying the groundwork to implement our field plan to defeat McClintock. We are ready to take advantage of the hundreds of volunteers who are upset with the ways he has ignored the needs of this district. We’re in it to win it, and we’re confident the women running against McClintock are too.”
