February 12, 2018 - WASHINGTON — U.S. Representative Jeff Denham has announced that H.R. 60, the Encourage New Legalized Immigrants to Start Training Act (ENLIST Act), has gained 218 co-sponsors in the 115th Congress – enough to pass the House of Representatives.
“This is a milestone achievement for ENLIST, and I thank all of my colleagues who have signed on to support this bill, which will allow Dreamers to fight for the only country they know and love and earn a pathway to American citizenship,” said Rep. Denham. “There is no greater act of patriotism than serving in our nation’s military. Immigrants have been doing this throughout the history of our nation. It’s time we move this bill forward.”
The ENLIST Act – which has strong bipartisan support at 101 Republicans and 117 Democrats – would allow otherwise qualified undocumented immigrants brought here by their parents through no fault of their own to earn legal status through military service.
Additional information about the ENLIST Act, including the full bill text and list of co-sponsors, is available on Congress.gov.
