March 13, 2018 - The National Weather Service Hanford office has issued a Flood Advisory for Minor Flooding in Poor Drainage Areas for Mariposa County, Central Madera County, Southwestern Tuolumne County, and Northeastern Merced County.

The National Weather Service in Hanford CA has issued a

* Flood Advisory for Minor Flooding in Poor Drainage Areas for...
  Mariposa County in central California...
  Central Madera County in central California...
  Southwestern Tuolumne County in northern California...
  Northeastern Merced County in central California...

* Until 215 PM PDT

* At 1107 AM PDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that will cause
  minor flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in
  minor flooding in the advisory area. Rainfall rates around 0.5
  inches per hour may lead to water problems.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Wawona Campground, Wawona Vistor Center, Yosemite South Entrance,
  Metcalf Gap, Wawona, Oakhurst, Yosemite Lakes, El Portal, Bootjack,
  Mariposa, Mariposa Grove, Fish Camp, Catheys Valley, Lake McClure,
  Jerseydale and Ahwahnee.

Additional rainfall of one half to an inch is expected over the area
over the next few hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move away from recently burned areas. Flooding of creeks, roads and
normally dry arroyos is possible. The heavy rains will may trigger
rockslides, mudslides and debris flows near the Detwiler burn scar.
