Master Musician Erin Wang
Talus Ensemble
on Friday, June 22

The Talus Ensemble - led by master musician Erin Wang, a recent transplant from San Fransisco to El Portal - marks the first Chamber Music performance on the Art Park Stage. Cellist Erin Wang (pronounced Wong) will be joined by violist Ivo Bokulic, and violinists Adam Scow and Anthony Blea.  Wong received a Bachelor of Music and B.A. in French from Oberlin College and Conservatory, M.M. from DePaul University, and Artist Certificate in Chamber Music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. She has performed chamber music with Yo-Yo Ma, Menahem Pressler, Peter Frankl, and Anthony Marwood, and has collaborated with the Irish music ensemble Anúna, jazz clarinetist Paquito D’Rivera, and hip-hop artist Kanye West. She has toured with Death Cab for Cutie as a member of the Magik*Magik Orchestra, as well as performed for National Geographic and with Sun Kil Moon, Zoë Keating, Third Eye Blind, Geographer, Rogue Wave, Two Gallants, Nicki Bluhm and the Gramblers, John Vanderslice, SF Girls Chorus, and ODC Dance of San Francisco. Ms. Wang has appeared with Quartet San Francisco, the New Century Chamber Orchestra, and the Aspen Chamber Orchestra while completing a fellowship at the Aspen Music Festival, and is a member of the Santa Cruz Symphony and a substitute in the Monterey and Merced symphonies. Winner of the concerto competition at SFCM, she has performed as soloist with the SFCM Orchestra.

Cottonwood CreekCottonwood Creek on Saturday, June 23

Cottonwood Creek (local Mariposa singer/songwriter Scott Patrick Little and his partner Maggie Watkins Little) have entertained audiences all over California’s Central Valley and Foothills at venues of all sizes with a high energy Americana/Country/Folk sound that even impressed Nashville, where they’ve also left their mark in recent years. Formed six years ago, Cottonwood Creek have been compared to The Old Crow Medicine Show and Zac Brown in the performing of their own original foot-stomping music with tight blended vocal harmonies. The spunky duo made a recording in Nashville with the help of seasoned professionals that climbed the Sirius XM Radio Country charts upon its release, and shined so bright performing last year on the Art Park Stage, they broke Music on the Green’s attendance and tip records by a country mile! So, as their horizons continue to expand, come see Cottonwood Creek before they break internationally; they’re on the brink.
