Mariposa County and Eastern Madera County including Oakhurst will have Moderate Potential to High Heat Risk on Saturday.

June 22, 2018 - The National Weather Service Hanford office reminds the public temperatures will continue to rise through the end of the week and into the weekend.

A moderate heat risk is expected over the entire San Joaquin valley and Kern County desert on Friday. By Saturday the conditions remain in the moderate range with a few locations in the valley reaching the High Risk category. Therefore a Heat Advisory has been issued for the San Joaquin valley from noon Friday through 8:00 PM Saturday.

Temperatures on Friday should top out near 103 degrees, and up to 107 degrees in some valley locations on Saturday.

There’s a good chance that the heat advisory may be extended through Sunday, so stay tuned.

Temperatures are expected to decrease a few degrees by Monday and Tuesday to just below Advisory criteria, however, it will still be hot with triple digit temperatures scattered throughout the San Joaquin valley and Kern County desert.
