July 5, 2018 - Mariposa-Yosemite Artists invite you to our inaugural event, Art Around Town on Friday, July 6th and Friday, August 3rd from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Mariposa merchants and local artists are coming together to highlight the creative works of our local artists. It’s a time to stroll through downtown and along historic Highway 140/49 to visit shops, meet the artists and celebrate the arts! Many restaurants will be hosting artists as well, so enjoy the local fare along with the art!
Mariposa Art Around Town welcomes artists of all media: painting, photography, ceramics, fiber arts, music, wood working, basket-making and multi-media. Some artists will be demonstrating their work and all will be there to share their artistic journey.
The combination of our historic downtown and the offerings of our local artists will make for an enjoyable Friday night destination. The Company Store, The Brick Wall, Yosemite Crystals, Sugar Pine Café, Sierra Artist Gallery, Casto Oaks, Rumm Studio, The Alley, Epic Alpacas, Grove House and Anahata will be hosting artists Charles Phillips, Jeanetta Phillips, Lauri Kanarowski, Derek Heule, Jackie Baxton, Reva Colliver, Fran Shell, Kay Price, Lori Setterberg, Saralynn Nusbaum, Faith Rumm, Barbara Kyne, Barbara Cone, Frank Vigneri, Phyllis Becker, Sally Skogen, Vicki Thomas, Donna Emmerson and others. Mariposa’s own Ukuladies +2 are presenting some of the old standards for you from 5:30 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. in the shade of the Grove House outdoor patio.
