4-H member donating to Merced Police officer battling brain cancer

July 8, 2018 - The Merced Police Department reports the raffle to raise funds for Detective Henderson was held on Saturday at the Merced Police Department.

Kayleigh Trindade with Merced Police Department Detective HendersonOfficer Rasmussen took time to thank the many people and organizations who have helped sell tickets and donate to the great cause.

Kayleigh Trindade was presented with a plaque from the Merced Police Department and the Merced Police Officers Association for her selflessness and generosity.

She raised $37,000 auctioning her market pig at this year’s Merced County Fair. Thank you Kayleigh!

First prize of the raffle was a Springfield Armory M1A .308. The rifle was donated by Jeremy Rosenberg, who is the VP of Springfield Armory, and raised $18,000 for Detective Henderson.

Second prize was a basket of printed shirts and hat donated by Code 3 Ink.

Special thanks to Linda Dash who coordinated the raffle, sold several tickets, and brought drinks and food for the raffle. Thank you to Nate McKinnon, Doug Avery, Brian Rinder, Jeff Horn, and John Henderson who helped selling several tickets.
