August 5, 2018 - Music on the Green – the free summer concert series brought to you by the Mariposa County Arts Council and its many fine sponsors – rolls on into the last three weekends of the 2018 season presenting the return of Bodie 601 on Friday, August 10, and on Saturday, August 11, hometown favorites The Trespassers take the Mariposa County Art Park stage.

Bodie 601Bodie 601 on Friday, August 10

Back by popular demand, Bodie 601 take their name from the ghost town in the Eastern Sierras where they are home based. Since their impressive debut in the 2015 season of this self-described “bluegrass-ish” group playing original songs featuring 3 and 4 part harmony vocals and the high lonesome western sound of Amy Grahek’s electric violin, they’ve included Music on the Green in their busy summer touring schedule. Grahek wowed the audience at the Art Park several years ago – fronting her former band, The Coreshots – with her fiddling finesse and dynamic stage presence, and we can expect the same this Friday.

More on this wonderful quartet (3 women, 1 man) can be found on their websiteFacebook page.

TrespassersThe Trespassers on Saturday, August 11

Hometown heroes, The Trespassers write and cover songs influenced by Old-time and Gypsy Jazz music and have been an anticipated favorite at Music on the Green every season, playing at the Art Park since it’s opening in 2004. They are now respected veterans on the live music scene from the foothills to the Bay area, having played at The Strawberry Music Festival, The Fillmore Auditorium, and The Great American Music Hall, to name but a few. Their recordings have been played on radio stations from Santa Cruz to Fresno, San Francisco to L.A. This season’s performance will be a unique one with the inclusion of special guests Jared Jesperson, Fritz Baggot, and Music on the Green producer Ronnie Sweeting, individually adding some colorful dynamics to the selections from the Trespassers’ song list they’ll be sitting in on.

More on this band can be found on their Facebook page.
