November 20, 2014 - As many of you know on November 12, 2014 at 1:00 A.M. the Hotel Jeffery was on fire. Thanks to the Cal Fire and all the other firefighters the Hotel Jeffery and the rest of the block was saved. There was a lot of fire damage and a huge amount of water damage to the hotel. The Magnolia Saloon is in good shape and will be open soon. The historic hotel was one of the major employers of northern Mariposa County. The fire will have a huge economic effect on the community for it helped draw many tourists to the Coulterville area. The Hotel Jeffery is the hub of the historic community. It is very important to get the Hotel Jeffery renovated as quickly as possible.
We need YOUR help to do this. There has been a Go Fund Me account sent up at gofundme.com/hegno4 and also a bank account at Yosemite Bank, Fund for Hotel Jeffery Restoration Project, PO Box 1267, Mariposa, CA. 95338. One hundred per cent of these funds will be used for the restoration of the historical Hotel Jeffery.
