This forecast is focused on smoke behavior in and around Yosemite National Park. The forecast reflects Particulate Matter - not Ozone. This will be the final Smoke Outlook for the Ferguson fire.
Fire
Ferguson fire is reported at 96,824 acres with 87% containment and no forward progress. It is in the mop-up and repair phase.
Smoke
Air quality continues to improve throughout the forecast area. Smoke that has settled in the Merced river canyon during the nighttime hours will start to lift late morning, moving up-slope during the day and pooling back into the canyon overnight. Tuolumne could experience some evening smoke from the Lions fire to the south.
