Oakhurst Library Workshop: Self Publishing for Authors - Part 2

oakhurst california library madera countyAugust 20, 2018 - If you’re a published author, the next step is marketing your book, said Jennifer Moss, a local author and web developer. But, how do you begin that process? she asked rhetorically.

On Saturday, August 25, 2018, Moss will present Part 2 of a two-part workshop at the Oakhurst Branch Library entitled “Self-Publishing for Authors.” Moss’ workshop will focus on everything an author needs to know to get their book “out there” and noticed. Her presentation called “Your Book is Published. Now What?” is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon in the Library’s Community Room at 49044 Civic Circle Dr., Oakhurst.

Part 1 of the workshop was presented by Lauren Ball, another local author, book designer and illustrator on August 11, 2018, at the Oakhurst Branch Library.

Moss, who has lived in Oakhurst for more than seven years, said her workshop will cover public relations, social media, building your audience, reviews and ratings, book signings, blog tours, paid advertising and more.

“I love the craft of writing and teaching it, said Moss, adding that her workshop will combine her internet marketing skills with her experience as an author.

Moss has written three non-fiction books and a series of mysteries that currently contains four novels. She has also taught fiction writing classes at the Oakhurst Branch Library for both adults and teens since 2012.

Her writings have also been published in Ms. Magazine, Working Woman Magazine and Red Herring. She also has a blog at http://jennifermoss.com.

Moss is a transplant from Los Angeles who said she has “always loved” the mountain community and moved here because the price was right.

The free event is sponsored by the Friends of the Oakhurst Branch Library. For more information, call the library at (559) 683-4838 or visit www.oakhurstfobl.com.
