December 15, 2014 - The purpose of the Commission is to conduct public hearings and act upon applications for subdivisions, use permits and variances; make environmental determinations in accordance with the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act; act on appeals from decisions or determinations made by the Planning Director; and make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors on general plan and zoning amendment proposals.

The Commission may undertake special studies and prepare regulatory program recommendations as requested by the Board of Supervisors.

Appointed Commissioners must take an Oath of Office, and file an annual Statement of Economic Interest with the Mariposa County Clerk. Term of office for this position coincides with the term of office for the District One and Three Supervisor, and runs through 2018.
