Northside-Pet-ConnectionNPC is looking forward to the start of the new year, optimistic that our now-established policy of 20 vouchers available each month, plus the increased value of the vouchers will expand our ability to offer spay/neuter services to the pets of more individuals and families. This means that, depending on which veterinary clinic you choose, almost the entire cost of spaying or neutering your pet will be covered. Remember, the number to call to sign up for a voucher is (209) 732-6194.

You undoubtedly know by living in the Northside communities served by NPC that pet overpopulation is a large problem. The response needs to be shared by all of the residents of the region whether or not they personally own pets. We have been pleased with the way our message has spread, but much more needs to be done. In particular, we have to increase our efforts at educating the public, especially concerning spay/neuter alternatives that are available.

One small way for citizens to help NPC is to place spare change in the containers at various merchants in the area. Although Mar-Val market is no longer participating in this effort, we would like to thank them for their help in the past. Current participants include; Greeley Hill Market, Claimjumper Outpost, and PMC Hardware and Lumber. Our thanks go out to them!
