Mariposa County November 2014 Unemployment Report Finds 190 Fewer Employees Over November 2013

December 19, 2014 - The Mariposa County November 2014 unemployment rate of 7.5% is 1.2% lower than November 2013 when the rate was 8.7%. During November 2014, 680 residents were unemployed. A drop of 17.1% from November 2013 when 820 residents were unemployed. 

The Leisure and Hospitality industry with 2,100 workers during November 2014 employed 370 less workers (down 15.0%) than during November 2013 when 2,470 workers were in the industry. The Government employed .5% more workers during November 2014 (1,860) than in November 2013 when 1,850 people were employed in Government jobs.

The Civilian Labor Force came in at 9,120 during November 2014. The Labor Force decreased by 330 from November 2013 when the Labor Force was at 9,450.

There was a decrease of 190 employees in the county in November 2014 over November 2013 when 8,630 residents were working in the county. That results in a year to year decrease of 2.2%
