Final NMCHC Lecture Series

Erickson Cattle Drive

Pre & Post ‘The Rim Fire’

The fourth and final of this year’s NMCHC Spring Lecture Series will be a session with Tim Erickson.  Tim is the grandson of early local cattle rancher Tim Carlon. He and his family and friends continue the tradition of driving cattle up to the high pastures in and around Yosemite each spring and then herding them back down each fall. Tim will share stories of his family’s history and past drives as well as talk about the challenges the Rim Fire wrought and related policy changes that affect the future of such drives in the future. Please join us for this presentation at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 13th at the Greeley Hill Community Center, 10332 Fiske Rd.

There is no charge, but donations are always appreciated.

Sunday, June 14, 2015: BREAKFAST

Come enjoy eggs cooked to order, all-you-can-eat pancakes, ham or sausage and fruit at the NMCHC Community Breakfast on Sunday, June 14th.  Breakfast remains a great value at just $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for children and $15.00 for a family of four (2 adults, 2 children).  The Old School House, at the corner of Cemetery St. and Broadway in Coulterville is easy to find, has ample parking and will be open from 8 to 11 a.m.  Fun raffle prizes and a free breakfast drawing every month.

Congratulations to Helen Bauman who won the special Mother’s Day raffle prize, a lovely water color painting of violets by local artist, Maryanna Kingman.
