On Saturday, May 30th, two representatives from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office will present a class on preventing Elder Fraud at the Oakhurst Library Community Room from 10:30 a.m. - 12 Noon.
Detective Jeff Noland and Community Service Officer Jo Ann Evans will be addressing the following issues:
IRS Frauds
Telemarketing Scams
Fraudulent Home Repair
Bank Account Scams
Elderly residents are often victims of unscrupulous fraudsters. At this class, they will learn how to spot fraud and how to report it to the authorities. It is especially important for seniors who live alone.
This class is free.
The class will be held in the Community Room at the Oakhurst Library on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 12 Noon.
