Cousin Jack’s Mariposa Evenings – the summer concert series brought to you by The Mariposa County Arts Council and its many fine sponsors – begins its 24th season with free concert performances by The Trespassers on Friday, June 5, and Green Machine on Saturday, June 6 at the Mariposa County Arts Park Stage.

Trespassers AlternativeThe Trespassers

Hometown heros, The Trespassers write and cover songs influenced by Bluegrass, Old-time, and Gypsy Jazz and have been an anticipated favorite at Mariposa Evenings every season, playing at the Arts Park since it’s opening in 2004. They are now respected veterens on the live music scene from the foothills to the Bay area, having played at The Strawberry Music Festival, The Filmore Auditorium, and The Great American Music Hall, to name but a few. Their CDs have been played on radio stations from Santa Cruz to Fresno, San Francisco to L.A.

Green MachineGreen Machine

Green Machine has become a staple of Mariposa Evenings, bringing authentic and original Reggae music and attitude to the Arts Park stage for 12 years now. Recognised throughout California as the real deal, they are veterens of festivals and concert stages from the foothills to the coast, providing a feast for the eyes with their light show, and for the ears with their trance-like Reggae jam sound complete with sound bytes.

The 2015 season of “Music on the Green”- a Mariposa tradition since 1991 – promises to be an exciting one, with the return of old favorites, and the debut of 7 new groups (including three from San Francisco). Performing for the first time on the Arts Park Stage this year: Trance Mission (6/12); John Cardenas & The Wise Guys (7/10); Blue Skies (7/17); Todd Novak & The Benny Hillbilleez (8/8); Nathan Ignacio (8/14); Baraka Moon (8/28); Roger Perry & Friends (8/29).

This year’s season begins June 5 and ends August 29, with free concerts every Friday and Saturday evening, except Friday, July 3, when we invite you to attend an Independence Day performance by the Mariposa Symphony Orchestra at the Mariposa Co. Amphitheater. Mariposa Evenings shows resume at the Arts Park, Saturday, July 4.

All performances begin at 7 p.m. at the Mariposa County Art Park, located on Hwy. 140, between 4th and 5th Streets, in historic downtown Mariposa, CA. Free parking on 5th Street along the Creek Walkway to the Park, also providing handicapped access.

The shows are free to the public – tips for the performers will be solicited, encouraged, and appreciated.
