With the Unemployment Rate decreasing from July 2013, employment was up 150 residents compared to July 2013. July 2014 had 9,420 residents employed compared to 9,270 in July 2013.
The unemployment rate increased .4% from June 2014 (6.1%) and decreased 1.1% from July 2013 (7.6%). Employment in the Leisure and Hospitality industry had 130 more employees compared to July 2013.
650 residents were out of work in July 2014. June 2014 had 610 residents out of work and July 2013 had 770 residents out of work.

The civilian labor force which is the total of all workers, those working and those that are unemployed has increased by 30 residents from July 2013 to July 2014.The July 2014 labor force is at 10,070.
The labor force can keep increasing as the students in the schools start applying for jobs. So every year the number could go up just on the rate of the local school children reaching the age where they apply for jobs. Additionally the rate can increase by people moving into the county and are looking for work or are working. The rate decreases by people leaving the county for various reasons, retiring, dying or dropping off the labor rolls as they give up looking for a job.
