Eric ElliottProfessional artist, Eric Elliott, will be teaching a series of art classes for teenagers at the Oakhurst Library starting on Tuesday, July 7th, 2015.  The class will be held in the Library’s Community Room on Tuesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The classes are for students in grades 6th thru 12th.   The classes will be held on Tuesday, July 7th, July 14th and July 21st, 2015.  The classes are free and art supplies will be included.  All levels of experience are welcomed.

Eric Elliott is a professional artist who spent much of his career working in the video game industry as an animator and concept artist. He studied animation at De Anza College and then worked on Atari’s "Rampart" and "Pole Position", THQ’s "Mask" and Crystal Dynamics’ "Gex" and "Legacy of Kain" series ("Blood Omen", "Defiance"), as well as others.

Eric taught 3-D Animation in Maya at Foothill College. He was director of photography for two films with Paw Print Studios: "Valley of Fear" and "Far From the Sea", in which he also acted.
The topics will include:

  • Drawing fundamentals, shapes and basic perspectives

  • Lighting, shading and texture

  • Composition and gesture drawing
On Wednesday, July 29th, there will be an art show where students can enter their work.  This show will be held at the Community Center and students can win awards for their art.
