SONORA, California, June 29, 2015 – Stanislaus National Forest Supervisor Jeanne Higgins announced today the solicitation of proposals for concession campground Special Use Permits (SUP) for three campground complexes on the Forest. A permit or permits to provide high-quality public services in the operation and maintenance of government-owned recreation facilities will be issued. 

Individual or multiple SUPs will be issued for the following developed sites, located on the Summit District of the Stanislaus National Forest (STF): Clark Fork Complex (Permit Area 1), including Sand  Flat and Clark Fork Campgrounds; Baker Deadman Complex (Permit Area 2), including Baker Campground, Deadman Campground, and Kennedy Meadows Trailhead and Camping Area; Pinecrest Complex (Permit Area 3), including Pinecrest and Meadowview Campgrounds, Pioneer Trail Group Campground, and Pinecrest Trailer Dump Station. The same applicant could be selected for all offerings. The STF will likely issue the SUP in January 2016, with the intention of the successful applicant(s) beginning operations during the 2016 recreation season.

Prospective applicants can find details about the application process by reviewing the Prospectus for Campground and Related Granger-Thye Concessions documents posted on the Forest website at www.fs.usda.gov/main/stanislaus/ or by contacting Susan S. Clark, Forest Recreation Officer, at (209) 532-3671 ext. 316. 

All applications must be on paper and received by the Forest no later than 4:30 p.m. PST on Friday, August 28, 2015. Complete proposals must be mailed to: Forest Supervisor, Stanislaus National Forest, Attention: Susan S. Clark, 19777 Greenley Road, Sonora, CA 95370.  Site visits to the campground complexes will be scheduled by the Summit District Public Service Program staff within 21 days from the date of this announcement. Specific times, dates, and tour locations will be posted on the Forest website atwww.fs.usda.gov/main/stanislaus/

Applicants must submit the required processing fee with each proposal submitted.   The selected applicant may be responsible for the costs of preparing and issuing the permit. Additionally, the selected applicant will be required to undergo a Financial Ability Determination (FAD), unless the Forest Service has conducted a FAD for the applicant within the past year and no changes are necessary to bring it up to date.
