CalVets works with disabled and homeless veterans in our county, linking them up to resources, helping them with paperwork, and also helping their families when needed. With approximately 2,300 veterans in our county, Mr. Johns is a key resource. At the meeting, Mr. Johns will discuss how he helps vets, what their needs are, and what kind of activities (such as standdowns) are done for the vets.
Along with Mr. Johns comments, we will have our Jefferson Award winner, Gabi Tovar, read her winning essay. And after the speakers, we will be discussing recent Supreme Court decisions, state bills, and a quick update on the mining conditional use permit issue.
